the daily quest of languages

i finished my language learning at 13.27. my aim for the next few days is to do two lessons of german and french a day, and a whole section of japanese a day (with busuu). as for maru for japanese, i'll try to complete a whole row of hiragana each day, and if that's not possible, just two rounds of maru.

blog catching up & taming the search bar beast

blog goals today were the following:

• catch up for the blog on the 1st of june
• catch up for the blog on the 2nd of june
• catch up for the blog on the 5th of june
• finish styling the mobile navigation bar
• finish styling the language vocab within blogs
• finish implementing the functionality of the search bar

regarding the first three to do's, this is how i did:

• 1st june - 14.35
• 2nd june - 15.12
• 5th june - 17.05

the styling of the mobile navbar was easier than i thought it'd be; i finished this at 17.42.

i then realised i had used the fustat font instead of the exo font for the mobile menu, so i ended up changing it to exo to match the font style of the non-mobile navigation bar.

i finished styling of language vocab within blogs at 18.49 - just in time for dinner!

now, onto the final part of the day: search bar functionality

i had to do quite a bit of research and fiddling but ended up getting it to work. here's the link that helped me do this:

• search component for alpine.js and tailwindcss

tomorrow, i hope to finish the whole functionality of it by improving the following things:

• making it disappear when not being used
• search through all blogs
• go through json file instead of an array stated within the html
